North Texas Pit Bull Pride is DFW’s celebration of “National Pit Bull Awareness Day”, which was created in 2007 by Jodi Preis, founder of Tennessee rescue Bless the Bullys. Jodi’s vision was to host a huge event that could help educate people about pit bull-type dogs and change public perception of them, while helping bring awareness of local organizations that support the dogs. On the 3rd Saturday of October each year, more and more events are popping up across America. In 2014, almost every major city along with many small towns across America hosted events celebrating NPBAD…likewise, recurring events like ours have experienced a significantly higher turnout every year.Bless the Bullys keeps a running list of most of the events in the U.S. To read more about the event history and look up events in other states, check out their website!
