Hello Bully is a little rescue doing big things, and our gala is no exception! We are so excited about our TENTH annual Lovers Not Fighters Gala! Join us on Saturday, April 28th, at one of the most spectacular venues in the city, The Wintergarden at PPG Place. We are so looking forward to our third year at this magical venue. The Lovers Not Fighters Gala has been voted Best Benefit Bash by Pittsburgh Magazine, two-years running!

We are thrilled to welcome our very special guest, founder of Pinups for Pitbulls, Deirdre “Little Darling” Franklin. Pinups for Pitbulls works to educate the public about Pit Bulls and raise awareness to the problems with Breed Specific Legislation. This year, our VIP guest experience is going to be truly special. On Friday, April 27th, our VIPs are invited to The Hello Bully Halfway House for a private tour, cocktails, photos, and a book signing with Deirdre Franklin! Hello Bully’s Lovers Not Fighters Gala is our biggest fundraising event of the year. It is a celebration of the animals and people we help through our rescue and programs, and of our continued dedication to our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and repair the reputation of the American Pit Bull Terrier; and to provide assistance to all companion animals of underserved communities with a goal of reducing overpopulation and preserving the human–animal bond.

Hello Bully needs your help in making this award-winning event our most successful yet. Our goal has always been to raise $50,000 for our mission, and the animals and people we serve. We have come close in years past, but this year we know that with your help, we can reach our goal! Every donation counts!

2018 Lovers Not Fighters Gala FAQS

Q. I would like to donate an item for the auction, are you accepting donations?
A. Yes, and thank you! The Lovers Not Fighters Gala is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and we rely solely on your donations to make it a success. Please email Nikki, at nikki@hellobully.com and we will be happy to accept your donation and provide you with a receipt.

Q. My company or business would like to be a sponsor for this event, who should we contact?
A. We have many levels of sponsorship available, and expect to sell out to a crowd of over 400 people again this year. Please contact Christi Robinette, Corporate Donor Care, at christi@hellobully.com for details on corporate sponsorship.

Q. What is the appropriate attire for this event?
A. Cocktail attire, please. Come in your best slacks and tie, suit, pantsuit, or cocktail dress. No jeans or sports wear, please.

Q. Will there be food?
A. Yes! We have a wonderful selection of hor d’oeuvres and desserts. All hor d’oeuvres and sweets will be vegetarian or vegan and will be marked accordingly.

Q. Will there be drinks?
A. Yes! There will be a cash bar. With a purchase of a VIP ticket, you will receive 2 drink tickets.

Q. Will there be entertainment?
A. The evening will include video presentations from Hello Bully. We will also be awarding the 2018 Hello Bully Hero Award, recipient TBA. There is a DJ and there will be music and dancing throughout the evening.

Q. Will there be dogs at the event?

Q. Can I bring my dog?
A. Sorry, we do not allow additional dogs at the gala. Please see above.

Q. Will there be an auction or raffle?
A. Yes. In addition to our full line of merchandise, there will be raffle items as well as silent and live auctions. We accept cash, checks, and major credit cards.

Q. Will there be assigned seating?
A. General admission tickets will not have assigned seats. We have more chairs and fewer tables for General Admission guests this year.

Q. What does the VIP package include?
A. Your VIP ticket includes premium, reserved seating. VIP tables for the gala are available for parties of 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, or more for $125 per person. This year, VIPS are also invited to The Hello Bully Halfway House on the evening of Friday, April 27th for a private tour, cocktails, photos, and a book signing with Deirdre “Little Darling” Franklin of Pinups for Pitbulls.

Q: Where is the Friday VIP event?
A:  The Hello Bully Halfway House is located North of the North Hills. Our facility address is private and unlisted for the safety of our dogs. We will contact you with address and directions once you have purchased your tickets.

Q. Is there parking available?
A. PPG has their own parking garage. Metered street parking is available.

Q. Is smoking allowed at the event?
A. This is a non-smoking event.

Q. I am from out of town. Where should I stay?
A. Here is a list of hotels, within a short distance of The Wintergarden at PPG Place.
